• $11,900,000 settlement for a temporary worker that suffered catastrophic crushing and degloving injuries to his foot and leg due to an unguarded conveyor.  In securing this result, Ray successfully navigated complex legal defenses involving the plaintiff’s employment status.
• $11,200,000 settlement for a food service worker that suffered catastrophic injuries while she was cleaning an unguarded pretzel machine while it was in operation.  Ray successfully proved that the machine lacked a safety device (interlock) which would have powered down the machine if the guard was removed while the machine was on.  Ray also obtained a significant recovery from the entity that was responsible for training the plaintiff for failing to provide proper safety training.
• $8,000,000 settlement involving a child’s death in a residential fire caused by a defective curling iron and power strip that lacked an automatic shutoff and/or thermal fuse.
• $7,000,000 settlement for a union carpenter Union carpenter who sustained a serious knee injury after a pair of defective drywall stilts broke underneath him.  Ray uncovered information in discovery that the manufacturer continued to sell the stilts after learning that they were failing due to the fact that the stilts were being incorrectly manufactured.
• $6,400,000 million settlement for victims of an apartment fire caused by a faulty alarm system and unsafe conditions of the apartment building itself.  Ray secured a substantial recovery from the alarm service company and the property owned.
• $3,750,000 million partial settlement for a laborer who suffered significant injuries when an industrial remote control failed causing him to be struck by a metal chain.  Ray was able to secure a recovery against the equipment manufacturer and maintenance companies despite the fact that the employer threw away the control following the incident.
• $3,000,000 settlement for a union ironworker who suffered permanent psychological injuries when he witnessed a co-workers death which was caused by unsafe working conditions and a defective hydraulic jack.
• $2,ooo,ooo settlement for a young man injured by a defective Ryobi table saw.
• $1,875,000 settlement in a liquor liability (dram shop) matter where the victim was fatally shot by patron that was overserved while visibly intoxicated.
